Ok, as far as the whole world map/fast travel thing goes, there's three things I'd like to see.įirst, a travel network you could use to get around in - think silt striders from Morrowind or the carriages from Skyrim. I would see myself wandering the wastelands in my corveta and getting off to kick some asses. It has to be well done to work, but it would work. It was something fun to use once or twice but you'd eventually go back to walking and forget all about this clumsy experience, it would have been more difficult in Fallout, where a lot of enemies can get you from afar. You'd usually get of your mount when ennemies when encountered, kill them and go back to riding.
Oblivion and even Skyrim had it easy as the only thing horses did was "I get on the horse, I move faster, I get off the horse". The hard part is to develop a different kind of gameplay when you are on a vehicle/mount. Both games use the same engine as Oblivion, and everyone can agree with the fact that horses in Oblivion were horrible. It would have totally ruined my experience of Fallout 3 !īut I think that when fallout 3 (and NV) were released, it would have been too hard to implement. Imagine we had had Fawkes in the side car firing his minigun at deathclaws ? I mean imagine, if in fallout 3, we had ridden a bike with our tunnel snake outfit on and hacked trough hordes of raiders with our Shishkebab ?
